Enforcement and Transparency

Enforcement

Enforcement & Transparency

Accountability through openness. Every action is documented and publicly accessible.

Our Enforcement Philosophy

CEAS believes enforcement should be graduated, transparent, and fair. We use a structured five-level framework that gives providers clear notice and opportunity to correct issues before facing serious consequences. Every enforcement action — from advisory notices to revocations — is published in our public registry.

Enforcement Levels

Level Action Description Public?
1 Advisory Notice Informal notification of a potential compliance gap. No formal action taken. No
2 Formal Warning Documented notice requiring a corrective action plan within 30 days. No
3 Probation Provider placed on probationary status. Must demonstrate compliance within 60 days. Status visible in public registry. Yes
4 Suspension Accreditation suspended. Provider cannot enroll new students in accredited courses. Existing students may complete current cohort. Yes
5 Revocation Accreditation permanently revoked. Provider removed from registry. May reapply after 12 months with a new application. Yes

Due Process Protections

Every provider has the right to contest any enforcement action at Level 2 or above. Our due process framework includes:

Written Notice

Detailed written explanation of the finding, standards cited, and evidence relied upon.

30-Day Response Period

Providers have 30 calendar days to submit a written response with supporting documentation.

Independent Review

Appeals are reviewed by an independent panel with no prior involvement in the original decision.

Final Decision in 30 Days

Appeal decisions are rendered within 30 days of receiving the provider’s response.

Public Enforcement Actions

✅ No Current Enforcement Actions

All currently accredited providers are in good standing. This section will list any active probation, suspension, or revocation actions when they occur.

Transparency Commitment

CEAS publishes all enforcement actions at Level 3 and above in our public registry. We believe that students, employers, and the public have the right to know the accreditation status of any EMS training provider. This information is also available via our public API.
