About CEAS

About CEAS

The Council for EMS Accreditation & Standards exists to ensure EMS continuing education meets the highest quality benchmarks — transparently, affordably, and fairly.

Our Mission

CEAS provides independent accreditation for EMS continuing education providers. We believe that accreditation should serve the public interest by ensuring education quality — not by maximizing revenue from providers and students. Our standards are published, our fees are transparent, and our processes guarantee due process for every provider.

Our Core Principles

Measurable Quality

Every accreditation standard is specific, measurable, and published. Providers know exactly what is expected before they apply. No ambiguous criteria, no subjective evaluations, no hidden requirements.

Full Transparency

All CEAS standards, fee schedules, enforcement policies, and governance documents are publicly available. Enforcement actions at probation level and above are published. Warnings remain private to encourage voluntary correction.

Independence

CEAS maintains strict conflict-of-interest policies. Reviewers cannot evaluate organizations they have financial, personal, or competitive relationships with. Board members cannot hold financial interests in accredited providers. All conflicts are disclosed.

Fair Treatment

Every enforcement action follows a defined process: written notice with specific findings, 30-day response period, independent review panel, right to hearing with counsel, and proportional outcomes. We coach before we enforce.
